Hands & Harvest
Hands
Hands strong enough to hold the universe, gentle still to hold mine. The weight and fragile wonder. Hands with holes. Fingerprints on communion cups tracing our hunger. Hands into the harvest fields, plucking grapes to be found at the produce stand. Chattering exchange, wrists bending, hearts beating to bear fruit. Fishing for it, curing and canning, cold cut and freshly baked.
Hands of the harvest holding on the the weight and wonder. Carrying the load home to make the feast, reclining at the table to taste the surprise and sweetness.
